In 2018, I found the political arena to be a very confusing place indeed. I didn’t know where I fit in, and, more importantly, I didn’t know what news sources to trust. Everyone seemed so angry and I wondered if we’d lost sight of connection and community.
So, I started The Civilian to provide easy-to-digest, non-partisan, unbiased breakdowns of political events. Interspersed with that, I talked about how to have civil discourse, how to treat each other well, and how to participate in democracy. I hoped to bring connection back.
Along the way, I unearthed a desire to further connect with you on lots of other topics. In January 2023, I’m starting a new concept that will broaden the things we talk about here at The Civilian. But no matter the topic, anything written here will be based upon the cornerstone of treating each other well.
